SUTTER HOME CHENNIN BLANC is extremely cheap for a decent desert wine. Now pros might not enjoy it, but I must say for a social situation where you do not know if people even like wine it is perfect. Even people who don’t like wine will feel they fit in. It is sweet as sugar but gives an after taste of a wine. Nothing like going to a party and there is 4 bottles of MERLOT and your a white wine drinker. Whats the cheapest you have seen this wine and let me know what you think about!! Oh ya Join US. TASTING NOTES: An appealing light straw colour. Full-bodied palate with powerful varietal flavours of tropical fruit, ripe green fig and melon. This follows through with a mouth-watering thread of acidity to a crisp clean aftertaste.

Wine Maker’s Remarks: Gentle handling and careful attention is given to the Chenin Blanc grapes from the vine to the glass. To retain the delicate varietal flavors of crisp citrus, melon, and spicy ginger, Beringer’s winemakers chill the juices immediately following crush and continue to closely monitor the temperature throughout fermentation. Just before dryness, they cool the juices even further to halt fermentation and retain a smooth, lush mouthfeel and lingering finish.

callaway.jpgThe grapes for this wine were sourced from three well-known California grape-growing regions each recognized for the unique flavor components the terroir brings to the grapes. Paso Robles Sauvignon Blanc is know for its nectarine/stone fruit qualities, while Temecula Valley typically displays melon/citrus flavors, and the Monterey fruit brings some grassy/herbal components to the wine. The refreshing citrus flavors of this Sauvignon Blanc make it a great aperitif wine for sipping. It is also delicious with fresh salads, shrimp cocktail or oysters on the half shell.
