Marchese De Petri Il Valore Sangiovese 2006 Giovane

February 10, 2008

il-valore.jpgWine Makers Remarks: Campagna Gello, “Il Valore”, Sangiovese, “Marchese de Petri”, Puglia, Italy 2006 ($3.50) -Medium ruby in color with aromas of strawberry, violet and thyme. A bit lightweight on the palate with earthy strawberry flavors and good acidity for food, finishing with dusty tannins. A nice value in everyday red wine similar to their $6 Toscana. This wine is available at Trader Joe’s across the U.S.

I picked this Cheap Wine up at Trader Joe’s. Great price around $3.99. Rubber cork almost broke my bottle opener. Aroma of the wine was decent, enjoyable. The flavor was hinted of berries with very smooth tannins.
