Xplorador Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Concha Y Toro

January 30, 2008

Wine Maker’s Remarks: Dark red and violet in color. Plum and cherry notes with a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and soft, with rich flavors of berries and toasty oak. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to hearty stews and roasts, grilled and barbecued red meats, pasta and cheese.

This Cheap bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon was purchased for the SUPER price of just $5.25 at a local grocery store. Now this is a Concha Y Toro so I automatically assumed that it would be decent. I can assure you that this might be one of the worst wines every made. The aroma was similar to smelling a bottle of rubbing alcohol, the taste was instant gag reflex. This was the first bottle I could not swallow the first sip. I do not recommend this wine!! I would rather drink the fluids that build up in a 3 day old trash bag from a seafood restaurant. Made in Central Valley Chile. If I could have rated this a Zero I would.
