Cabernet Franc Cabernet Franc is one of the major varieties of red wine grape in Bordeaux. Most commonly mixed with Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. Brings a great flavor over the palate.

Chardonnay Chardonnay is a green grape used to make white wine. It is said to have originated in the Burgundy wine region of eastern France but is now grown wherever wine is produced.

Carmenere The Carmenere grape is a red wine grape that was originally planted in the Medoc region of Bordeaux, France, where it was used to produce deep red wines.

Cabernet Sauvignon This red wine grape that is prevalent in the French Bordeaux Region, and found in about every other region because it is so easy to grow.

Chenin Blanc Chenin blanc is a white wine grape from the Loire valley of France. Its high acidity means it can be used to make everything from sparkling wines to well-balanced dessert wines.

Mourvedre Mourvedre, is a variety of red wine grape grown around the world. In Portugal and the New World it is known as Mataro, in some parts of France it is known as Estrangle-Chien.

Gewurztraminer Gewurztraminer, sometimes referred to as Gewurz, is an aromatic white wine grape variety that performs best in cooler climates.

Grenache Grenache is probably the most widely planted variety of red wine grape in the world. It ripens late, so it needs hot, dry conditions such as those found in Spain and in the south of France.

Malbec The Malbec grape is a thin skinned grape and needs more sun and heat than either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot to mature. When it matures it give the wine a plum like taste.

Petit_Sirah This is the main grape known in the US and Israel as Petite Sirah with over 90% of the CA plantings labeled “Petite Sirah” being Durif grapes. It produces tannic wines with spicy, plummy taste.

Pinot Blanc Pinot blanc is a white wine grape. It is a clone or genetic mutation of Pinot gris, which is itself a clone of Pinot noir. This grape is grown in several countries.

Pinot Gris Pinot gris is a white wine grape. Thought to be a mutant clone of the Pinot noir grape, it normally has a grayish-blue fruit.

Riesling Riesling is an aromatic grape type giving off flowery, almost perfumed, aromas as well as high acidity.

Pinot Noir The name is derived from the French words for “pine” and “black” alluding to the varietals’ tightly clustered dark purple pine cone shaped bunches of fruit.

Sangiovese A red wine grape variety originating in Italy whose name comes from sanguis Jovis, “the blood of Jove”. Jr sangiovese has fresh fruity flavors of strawberry and a little spiciness.

Sauvignon Blanc A green skinned grape type which originates from the Bordeaux region of France.

Syrah-Shiraz The name of the grape Shiraz was taken from that of the city of Shiraz in Iran, near where the process of wine making possibly originated 7000 years ago.

Tempranillo Tempranillo wines can be consumed young, but the most expensive ones are aged for several years in oak barrels.
